Javea

  • Javea (Xabia is Spanish) is a gem of a town situated on the Northern Costa Blanca.
  • The rugged coastline is indented with secluded coves and sandy beaches.
  • The indoor daily market, in the town centre, sells fresh local produce from fruit and vegetables to locally caught fish and much else.
  • The Arenal area is one of Javea´s highlights. It has a promenade, a beautiful sandy bay and play areas for children.
  • The are many pavement cafes and bars overlooking the Mediterranean.
  • The are also a number of international restaurants in the town. Try the local wines and the jijona ice cream. (It's made from locally grown almonds.)
  • The Javea golf club is just outside town. There are several other courses within a short drive.
  • The attractive marina area Javea has a choice of water sports activities: sailing, fishing, scuba diving, water skiing and more. You can also enjoy some horse riding, tennis and shooting.
  • The town fiestas are held during the second fortnight of July and at the end of August with dancing, fireworks, music and parades.
  • The old town is steeped in history as is evident in its architecture. The church of San Bartoleme is a late gothic.
